Nosferatu and the Atomic Age

Very quick post as I need to get ready for work. Here are some of this paintings I finished up this week.

The Uranium Club will be a series based on people and events at the dawn of the atomic age. Unfortunately it will have to go on hiatus as I need to get a portfolio book together for October. I’ll try to document the progress on this blog.  I’m currently accepting commissions and contract work, if you’d like email me at reachc1@yahoo.com

Atomicon

A few weeks ago I saw a movie called Atomic Cafe. Its basically a feature length flic with a loose plot, pieced together from Cold War era propaganda and educational films.  Its hilarious, disturbing, and nothing short of genius.

Anyway, its interesting how differently we experience war and the threat of war today.  Its basically like… we don’t. The threat of global destruction was omnipresent for almost 50 years. Now we are so far removed from this concept we feel invincible.

Atomic weapons have unfortunately been used before, and will surely be used again.

The future is looking bright!
